Three sentence movie reviews: Lone Survivor

 In Three Sentence Movie Reviews

My friend Stephanie referred to this movie as “total war porn” and she wasn’t wrong.  I found the story to be mildly engaging and was interested in the amount of falling the actors/stunt doubles had to undertake while transferring this tale to celluloid. However, when I find myself mid-movie eagerly awaiting the part in the credits when we see pictures of the real people on which the movie is based, I know this is not a successful movie.

Cost: free from library
Where watched: at home.

Most of the newer posters on the IMP Awards site have comments. I usually read them.  These struck me as funny enough to include them here.

So, you are telling me that apart from being unable to watch it due to my inability to watch war movies, especially ones based in true stories, that I should NOT watch it because it’s not good. And Mark is unrecognizable. So, not good there either.

Exactly. I would steer anyone who asked away from this movie and toward Friday Night Lights. Maybe Peter Berg is only good as a TV dude.

I had no idea that was Mark Wahlberg at first glance! I was like, "Who does that look like?" The person who said Benicio del Torro is spot on! I’m not opposed to war movies, but this one didn’t appeal to me at all.

Heather’s comment is awesome. Perhaps, it seems, even more awesome than the movie. Yay for you and Heather’s response to your post!
